Virtual Mailboxes

A virtual mailbox is similar to a user except mail sent to a virtual mailbox may not be downloaded directly by a local POP3 mail client. Instead, e-mail received by a virtual mailbox must be forwarded on to a WorkgroupMail user.

Unlike a user, you do not need to purchase a license for each virtual mailbox. This means that you can set up an unlimited number of virtual mailboxes for free.

Virtual mailboxes are a way of facilitating one or more users to receive from multiple accounts hosted by the same ISP. For example, the user John Doe may receive all mail sent to john_doe@company.com, but by adding a couple of virtual mailboxes, he may also receive e-mail sent to sales@company.com and info@company.com .

Unlike users, virtual mailboxes have auto-responding capabilities. This means that WorkgroupMail can auto-reply to anyone who sends a message to a virtual mailbox.
